Take a moment to...
...imagine yourself at the reception, standing up to read aloud...

...to your Uncle Bud and Aunt Lois and their guests at their Wedding Anniversary party... a keepsake account of that familiar story of their first, blind date...
...to the new graduate or the retiree... the history of that hard-won degree... or the proud story of Dad's contibutions to the company... or your wife's long years of volunteer service to the charity that's honoring her today...
...to your business colleagues and competitors at the Business of the Year Awards ceremony... the story of your company, from the first $50 investment to last year's record sales...
Surprise them at the family reunion with the story of the summer house where you shared so many special weeks of childhood...
Delight and thank them with the gift that sums up all your love and gratitude... a fitting commemoration of their years of loving support... the story of your parents' lives ...
...remember a loved one with an heirloom memoir or eulogy.
Because a memory shared is a memory preserved, telling the lifestory of a special person means they will never be forgotten...

There are many occasions in the life of a family and of a business to share well-written, keepsake editions of stories... sometimes it's a familiar tale full of humor or reassurance... sometimes it's a little known account of personal struggle and hope.
Whether the "audience" is just you, your family members, co-workers, or the world at large...
your story deserves to be told.
It's a lasting investment and a gift that can be enjoyed again and again.

Working with a professional lifestory writer
The process
After discussing your project with you in detail, we send you a contract with all the details, including the length, the focus and the tone of your story. You receive a detailed questionnaire by mail or e-mail and when it is returned with your deposit, the writing begins. We look for completeness of information, and will call you for extra details or clarification if necessary. The first draft of your story is sent to you by mail or e-mail for your approval. Then a rewrite that incorporates your changes is done. The manuscript is sent back to you for final approval. You choose your production format and order the number of copies you need. You send in your final payment at this time. Your story is formatted, printed and shipped to you.
| Info-gathering |
|---|
We work from detailed questionnaires sent to you by mail or e-mail. The more info you give us the more personal and meaningful your commemorative story will be. We'll check details with you by telephone or e-mail as we write. In most cases, you will be able to provide enough background and details. Sometimes, longer memoirs or family history projects require historical research into the relevant era, labor history or ethnic group. If you have few details, say, about the early days of your grandfather's life after immigration, it is possible to recreate the context for his story based on informed surmises drawn from historical information. For extensive research we ask an hourly fee in addition to the project fee.
First & Final Draft Approval
We ask that you approve the first draft of your story in a timely fashion. You check for accuracy and for sequences of events and for completeness. While rewrites or entire changes of tone or focus are not advised at this time, there are often details to add or highlight.
Design & Production
We offer a variety of publication and format options. Photographs may be included to illustrate the text (depending on the number there may be a minimal production charge). All printing is offset on archivally safe paper. In addition to a manuscript edition of your story in a plain binder, you may choose an 8.5 x 11 or 5.5 x 8 format and the number of copies to be printed.
