A Master Certification Program for Lifewriting Teachers

While our full intent is yet to be articulated, we have identified two goals.

The first is to facilitate the maximum professional development of any and every teacher whose love of family and personal story keeping is not yet matched by her/his professional writing/teaching/organizational skills.

The second is to develop a cadre of teachers who have demonstrated their ability to represent the Soleil Lifestory Network in facilitating workshops under our direct sponsorship.

We have in mind to schedule teacher-led workshops throughout the United States and Canada, possibly beginning in the fall of 2003, certainly in the spring of 2004.

These workshops will be listed on our web site and promoted in our national outreach. The main office will be responsible for publicizing the events, processing registrations, and all and any other work except the teaching. We will call on Master Teachers to facilitate these regional workshops.

We need your feedback as we grow the Master Certification program. Please either cut and paste the following in a reply e-note and e-mail us with your answers or print it out and mail it to us.

1. Would you be interested in an extended professional development program leading to Master Certification as Lifewriting Teacher?

This program would include:
  • the Business Supports Seminar
  • the introductory Turning Memories Into Memoirs® Workshop
  • the Advanced Lifewriter's Writing Retreat Week
  • a variety of skills-specific, 6 to 10 week Tele-Classes
  • coaching as you undertake your own lifewriting project(s)
  • a course or "independent study" in which you the plan, complete,
    and publish your autobiography manuscript with guidance from SLN
