How does this work in practice?
Tele-groups take place via bridgeline (conference call) from any regular phone, anywhere. (Check the time zone for your group!)
You do not need a computer during the tele-group. This is not an e-course or webinar.
Long distance charges for the call are at your usual rate according to your carrier. Most carriers now offer a one-price monthly rate that allows you to call anywhere, anytime, as frequently as you want.
There is no additonal charge for your use of the conference line.
You call in to a designated long-distance number and, following a simple protocol to identify yourself when you speak, act in every way like students in a workshop. By the second session, you will recognize everyone's voice and no longer need to identify yourself.
Though many people feel reluctant before trying their first tele-group, everyone who has participated in our group sessions is surprised by how natural and easy it is to participate fully.
It's easy to connect:
Use a regular phone (not a cell phone). VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) such as SKYPE does not work well.
Temporarily disconnect call waiting and incoming fax options.
Choose a quiet location where you can concentrate, take notes, and be free of household distractions.
Follow the simple protocol to identify yourself as you speak.
