Denis Ledoux lives and works in his native Maine.
Christine Madsen
associate editor

Christine Madsen was a writer and editor for eight years at The Christian Science Monitor, where she won a regional award for her series on women and sports. At the Monitor, she says, she learned "to work in those telling details that make a story come alive." As an editor, she has worked with beginning writers as well as Pulitzer Prize winners in a variety of genres.

"My goal is always to edit a text or manuscript in such a way that the writer doesn't notice my edits," she says. "I focus on the story the writer wants to tell and can often suggest very small shifts in phrasing, scene structure, or other elements that realign the pieces so that the story is revealed or let free."

After her stint at the Monitor, Chris was editor-in-chief of a bi-weekly newspaper in Boston. She is a freelance writer and has had articles in a number of magazines and newspapers. Chris also writes fiction, and is working on her second novel, Let Me Take You Home. Her own memoir, Sufficient Grace, is in revision. Chris writes and edits for Bates College in Lewiston, Maine, where she earned a degree in English.

Chris Madsen writes and lives on the coast of Maine with her family.
Bob Feeman
associate editor

Bob Feeman has worked as an editor at several national magazines, most recently the Robb Report, and is a former copy-chief at PC Connection.

Active as a writer himself, he has written four novels, the latest of which is a historical story for young readers.

Bob has both a personal and a professional interest in following the current literary scene, which makes him an astute judge of manuscripts and their potential. He is quick at discerning the gist of a manuscript and reworking it to its best effect.

"My experience as a magazine editor has taught me to assess a piece of writing quickly and accurately. I like to get right down to work at making the author's intent accessible to its intended reader."

Bob Feeman writes and lives near Portland with his family.
