What does co-authoring cost?

All telephone consultations, writing and editing is done at the same hourly rate, $80/hour. We charge by the minute--that is, we do not round out charges to the nearest quarter hour or other unit--so you pay for exactly the time spent on your project.

We accept most credit cards, and personal checks.

Your project will be put on hold if your account is in arrears.

How can I keep charges within my budget?

First, you must determine the range of costs you are willing to incur. For some, this is a fixed amount already put aside. Others are more concerned with monthly expenses. You can stipulate that the monthly billing not exceed a certain amount. This choice can postpone the finish date of the project (because work will stop when that amount is reached each month) but may make it doable for you.

For others the total expenditure is not so important as total satisfaction with the project at completion.

Those primarily concerned with the overall cost can keep expenses down by writing as much of the original text as they can, and by gathering support materials--names and dates, documents and photographs--and making them accessible.

We bill weekly for time spent on your project.

Who decides when the project is completed?

It's always your project. You decide everything. We may recommend further revision or research, but the choice is yours. When you are satisfied with the outcome, the project ends.
